“FACE” is the first single off BROCKHAMPTON’s debut album ”SATURATION” and features various members of the boyband.
The song’s literary content details the concept of lost love and the pain that comes with it. Kevin Abstract’s directorship visualizes this with monochromatic jerky camera guidance as we watch an entire existence—from the TV to the wardrobe—demolished symbolically in the front yard.
During the finale episode of “American Boyfriend“ 1st season, Kevin Abstract described the making of the video, saying:
I just want to make, like, a punk rock video. Black and white, us just fucking our house up, going super crazy, ‘cause the song sounds nothing like that at all.
“FACE” was certified gold by the RIAA on September 28, 2021.
