Ah, yes! Babylon Zoo! I remember very vividly a statement from the guy, who - following the success of Spaceman - predicted to become "bigger than the Beatles". Well, arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand, I reckon.

Not quite. His main influences were David Bowie, Bauhaus, and the Cure. He mentioned them time and time again. Do you honestly believe that MM, who, at that time, already had a very distinctive art style, was influenced by a British one-hit wonder?

Had them seen live, years ago in a small club - it was great I like the glam rock space, not as good as Bowie or Bolan, but , well nowadays there is not such music, or tell me.

Spaceman is good but it's not the best song from the album... Fire Guided Light and Confused Art are definitely the best for me. Simply great !!

more influential than people realize, i think. marilyn manson clearly took more than a little inspiration from BZ for the Mechanical Animals album in 1998 (both bands borrowed from Ziggy-era Bowie as well). Orgy is another band that took the ironic dystopian image to heart on Candyass, also in 1998.

í would've liked spaceman if the song was like the first 30 seconds of it, a drumandbassish dub thing. to bad

Does there exist a remix or something that continues in the style of the intro of the intro (the part before the chipmunk singing starts). Would have been nice to have an instrumental track based on that. I've heard the 5th dimension remix, which sounded quite right, but it wasn't good enough.
