Raised in Flint, Michigan, rapper Tyree Jawan Thomas, better known as BFB Da Packman, embodies the true meaning of essential work. His professional career has balanced hard-hitting lyricism with a 9-to-5 job as a United States Postal Service (USPS) worker in Houston, Texas.
After releasing two projects in 2019, Packman exploded onto the rap scene in 2020 with the viral hit “Free Joe Exotic,” featuring fellow-Michigan rapper Sada Baby. He followed up this success with singles such as “Honey Pack,” which was later remixed with DDG and Lil Yachty.
Packman releases music under his own imprint, The Lunch Crew Company. In a 2020 Genius interview, he commented that even with financial success from rap, his USPS job is here to stay. One thing is for certain: the packages will keep coming from his end.
