After 10 years.. I think this album is pretty mediocre. It seems forced, too reliant on nostalgia and the production is awful. There are some highlights here and there, but overall it's disappointing considering the reunion circumstances and that it's the final Sabbath album.. also what the hell were they thinking with the wallmart or whatever the fuck edition - it feels even more like a cashgrab. Not mentioning that the bonus tracks are on par with the a-side or even better.

Yeah and that's the problem. A lot of people aren't willing to give the albums time. And then they write negative review about it. I have a lot of outputs that took me dozens of spins to really appreciate them. Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost) once said that nowadays, in the age of streaming shit, the people have an attention span of 30 seconds, ish. If the song doesn't connect with them in that time, they'll skip to another one / another band. That's kinda sad.
