discovered them when they opened for Immolation and Obituary. Definitely won me over!

Possibly the best modern death metal band! They're like a perfect mix of the best parts of Demilich, The Chasm and Timeghoul.

Now looking again he is probably playing that always on background on the other room or something. I commented Dec 1 that he has 34k+ plays. Now he has 39k+ plays. That is 5000 plays in 45 days. That makes 111 plays per day, every day. And again that makes 4 and half songs per hour, every hour, every day, for 45 days. Definitely some kind of cheating.

Why people upvoting the shitty Starspawn cover, the vinyl version is way better

Hoping the new Blood Incantation EP does what Neurosis/Tribes of Neurot did where you can layer the two tracks together, would be pretty cool

Can anyone recommend a similar band/record to Timewave Zero (dark ambient)? Bonus if its sci-fi themed.

Thanks for the recommendations. I listened to all of them, and Moondawn was my favorite. I see Klaus Shulze also has some works based on Dune, which I will check out next.

I don't really care much for newer death metal bands or releases. I rarely find anything challenging the old classics anyway, thus I never cared for BI's earlier releases. But I must say that I really dig the Tangerine Dream-type stuff they went with on "Timewave Zero". I for one hope they do more music in that vein.

If you're underwhelmed by the latest album, Mithras may be what you're looking for instead

yeah I'm disappointed that isn't DM as well. I don't dislike the thing, I like ambient music plenty, its just kinda frustrating when you get all hyped over a new hype proggy death metal album from a band you like only to have the wet towel thrown over you 7 minutes in when you realize that the atmospheric lead in still hasn't ended.

How exactly do you "dislike" something while also finding it to be "awesome background music for studying"??

I'm actually kind of annoyed that the CD version of Timewave Zero that I ordered doesn't contain the third track.

"Hidden History of the Human Race" is One of the better death metal albums of 2019 - It's a concept album i think? Just incredible music. An absolute masterpiece!

Why? What would have been different for you? They can do whatever they want, which you know. And you can choose to not listen to records you don't enjoy, which you are also aware of. So what would have been different if they had released this record under a different banner?

But these are just assumptions you are projecting onto the members of the band. It actually is a Blood Incantation record, just as Celestite is a WITTR record, simply because they made it. (Sorry for potentially coming off like a dick. It's just that this way of thinking has always been baffling to me. I am not even saying that you're wrong since I know that we're all constructing our own reality anyway. I just find this way of thinking so difficult to understand.)

i mean all your points are valid. they're still the same band and everything. but my brain works in this weird way that i like matching bands to genres or rather atmospheres that these genres can deliver and significant changes in stylistical direction make the "matching algorithms" that go on my head harder to execute; or at least weirdly convoluted. i prefer when bands have few, but "stylistically cohesive" records and i generally would prefer when bands that switch styles or have in-between projects release those under a new name, even when the members are identical. idk. i'm weird like that.

Dude, I love that you actually took time out of your day to write a cohesive and thoughtful answer to my ramblings. I believe I have an improved understanding of where you're coming from now.

I knew Blood Incantation were kinda overrated, but never expected them to release such vapid and BORING album. What an embarrassment
