I have listened to this song probably 100 times and can still discover new things about it. God this is beautiful and tragic and killer.

Yes, it does sound like a spiritual successor to Like a Rolling Stone. Beautiful song, so much soul and emotion in such heartfelt lyrics. This song sounds like it wants to bust out of my speakers when he gets to the "Sooooner or Laaaater" parts.

milesgordon, you got it right. I find Dylan's harmonica playing at the close of so many of his songs almost unbearably heartbreaking. OK his technique is not that great, but it's just got so much soul. This is one of my favourite songs of the entire Dylan output

Every time the chorus kicks in, especially the first one, my mind gets blown. [2] Every instrument on this album, and particularly this song, is nothing short of sublime.

Just one of a myriad of reasons why Dylan is in a totally, TOTALLY different league to this week's supposedly "great songwriter" (Pete Docherty, Lily Allen, etc....pur-lease). Ace.
