Caitlin Cary (born in Seville, Ohio, on October 28, 1968) is an alt-country musician. Cary was a part of Whiskeytown with Ryan Adams, where she played the fiddle and provided harmonies. Since the band broke up, she has released a series of albums, including "While You Weren't Looking", "I'm Staying Out", and "Begonias" (a collection of duets by Caitlin Cary & Thad Cockrell), as well as the EP Waltzie. She is also a member of Tres Chicas and The Small Ponds.

In 1993, musician Ryan Adams contacted Cary and asked her if she would play violin in a band that he was starting. Cary agreed, and they formed Whiskeytown.

In 1999, she co-founded Tres Chicas with Glory Fountain and recorded the albums "Sweetwater" (Yep Roc, 2004) and "Bloom, Red & the Ordinary Girl" (Yep Roc, 2006).

In 2000, Cary released her first solo EP Waltzie, produced by Chris Stamey.

Cary's debut album "While You Weren't Looking" was released in 2002 and featured Whiskeytown's Mike Daly (guitar).

In 2005, Cary released an album of duets, "Begonias", with Thad Cockrell that included songs composed by the duo Caitlin Cary & Thad Cockrell.

In 2010, Caitlin and Matt Douglas (lead singer and songster for The Proclivities) formed the group The Small Ponds and released an EP on Last Chance Records in September 2010.

In 2013, Cary co-founded the North Carolina Music Love Army with Jon Lindsay.
