The juiciest grooves they deliver on this album come hand-in-hand with the same credibility of filthy morgue horror attitude they manifested on the classic debut. Flawless stuff.

Pulverizing -- a significant improvement over the already fantastic, classic debut, and superior to everything that came after (IMO a case of diminishing returns with each subsequent record, though the next one is still pretty great). They've increased their proficiency as players by just a bit, developed better riffs and arrangements (which have an air of sloppiness to them, like they may fall apart at any moment, which creates a very thrilling sense of danger and near chaos that perfectly suits the themes of the material) and are near the height of both Death Metal and Grindcore here. Of the first two albums, this one leans a bit more in the direction of Death Metal; on the first one you could hear a bit of a Crust Punk/Punk type of influence (as is often the case with early Grindcore). An all time classic, essential masterpiece.

Symphonies of Sickness is absolutely amazing, an essential album of the genre. Although, I have a slight preference for Necroticism which is full of fineness, performed by musicians vivid of imagination to vary their gore style, and make it particularly exquisite.

Yep I will take this one over Reek of Putrefaction too. Love RoP but this is their masterpiece.

This and Heartwork are their best albums. Can't really choose one though since the sound is too different to compare.

No band could ever make an album so disgusting yet so beautiful at the same time. [4]
