Biography

Celena Francine Alexandra Cherry was born in 1977 in Hammersmith, London. Her parents, Maurice and Lena recognised that even at an early age, Celena had a passion for performing. At the age of 4, Celena attended Ravenscourt Theatre School where she developed her skills as both a singer and actress. In 1993 left school and got her first record contract with Walt Disney Records as part of a group called 'Illusion'. After 2 years, Celena decided to strengthen her skills and went to West Thames College in Isleworth to study film and theatre, and just a year later, a chance meeting brought her the fantastic opportunity of fulfilling a dream - by becoming the lead singer of a newly formed girl group, The Honeyz.

In 1998, their debut single 'Finally Found' reached number four in the UK charts and stayed in the chart for a further 10 weeks. Similar success followed for their next 4 singles, 'End Of The Line', 'Love Of A Lifetime', 'Never Let You Down' and 'Won't Take It Lying Down'. This led to platinum selling UK album, Wonder No 8 and hits all over the world.

After the failure of the second Honeyz album, Célena teamed up with her cousin Alani (former Kleshay singer) under the name Anotherside. They released one single together ("This is your Night") through V2 Records. Unfortunately it failed in the UK charts and they never released anything again.

In 2005 Célena released her first solo album through her official website. This exclusive limited edition CD features new interpretations of some of her classic Honeyz hits, plus some new material and personal favourites along with a selection of festive songs.

According to Célena Cherry's official website, the Honeyz are currently recording a new album as a group, following her acting appearances on the soaps "Hollyoaks" and "Doctors" . The album is due for release in 2006. She is at the same time working on her second solo album. Three new songs ("Gave You My Love", "Grass Ain't Greener" and "Conscience Calling") were posted on her MySpace in March 2006. Her album should be finished this year.
