This is the heaviest version of Circle of the Tyrants. Whoa! I have good memories listening to this album circa 2007!

It's incredible how this album (and HH/CF in general) extremely influential and absolutely unique at the same time. Strictly speaking, it's neither thrash, nor black, nor death, nor doom in any conventional sense. It's like 1984-era Sodom infused with Sabbath-ish doom riffs and sitting on the border with OSDM (still far from accurate description, of course). To my knowledge, there are relatively few who explicitly tried to imitate such a sound, even though there definitely was the potential for it to become a standalone genre. Although one could suggest that's sort of what Winter did, when came up with their brand of death-doom by taking another step on the basis of Celtic Frost legacy.

They truly have kept their unique sound. No one has perfectly imitated their sound. That is why they will always be one of the best!

Such a great cover by H.R. Giger. Makes me wish that Francis Bacon did a cover for some band.

Why is this so hard to find online? There are no digital versions of it anywhere.

Celtic Frost's ultimate declaration and victory because of its imagination and vision, confirmed through the vast scope of its influence on the formal development of black, doom, and death metal, as well as the experimental ambitions within underground metal as a whole.
