Parachute" is the third single by British pop singer Cheryl Cole. The song was written by Ingrid Michaelson and Marshall Altman for Cole's debut solo studio album 3 Words, released on 15 March 2010. The song was written by Ingrid Michaelson and Marshall Altman and was produced by Syience and will.i.am. On a video blog on Cole's official website, she states that Parachute one of the more "left-of-field sounding" tracks from the 3 Words album and that it was "unique". Cole also said that the song contains her favourite lyric from the album; "you are your own worst enemy, you'll never win the fight." Cole also said that the song was one of the options to be the lead single from the album; "Fight for this Love" was chosen instead.

The nation's sweetheart Cheryl Cole followed up solo chart smashes '3 Words' and 'Fight For This Love' with 'Parachute', a No.5 hit in late March 2010. She is currently filming the latest series of X-Factor and, having won two years running in her judging role with Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry, will be aiming for her third success in a row!
