“Manta Rays” is the first single off of Chloe Moriondo’s sophomore album "Blood Bunny". It reflects themes of yearning and honesty with lyrics about deep desire and borderline obsession. Chloe has said:
"The song is about an unhealthy attraction that I know a lot of teenagers can relate to. It was super cathartic to put all of my ideas into ‘Manta Rays’ and sing the chorus out as loudly and as emotionally as I wanted to. It makes me feel like I’m dreaming underwater."
In a 2020 interview with Flood Magazine, Chloe revealed that “Manta Rays” was the first song she ever wrote on guitar. Previously, she has written her music alongside a ukulele, as seen on her official YouTube channel.
