11:11 is Chris' eleventh studio album and the follow up to June 2022’s Breezy. The album title, release date, and number of songs on the album were confirmed via Instagram on August 16. Chris first teased new music on June 17 via Instagram, stating:

If yall thought I wasn’t going to release a single for the summer …. Think again

Chris initially announced that his upcoming eleventh album would be “just the right amount of magic to digest,” moving away from 30+ albums such as October 2017’s Heartbreak on a Full Moon. However, following the release of “Sensational,” Chris took to Instagram to reveal that the 11:11 is a double album, with 11 tracks dropping at 11 A.M. and another 11 at 11 P.M. However, on November 9, he announced that the album would be released on the 10th.

The tracklist was confirmed via Instagram on November 6 and some of the features were teased. “Double Negative” was dropped from the final tracklist as it “did not make the deadline in time with lawyers” and was replaced with “Views.” According to a fan page, some additional features were planned, but were omitted, most likely due to label decisions.

11:11 was preceded by 3 singles: the bouncy summertime-friendly “Summer Too Hot,” the afrobeats-inspired “Sensational,” and the Jamaican Patois influenced “Nightmares.”
