I saw them live opening for Mudvayne and didn't expect much. They blew me away. Sounded very good with awesome energy. I hope they make a new album.

I remember hearing about this band around 1998 after a magazine described them being "like Nine Inch Nails". I bought the self titled album, gave it a listen, and found myself disgusted, betrayed and offended over having been tricked into listening to nu-metal garbage that sounded like some creature created from the worst aspects of both korn and limp bizkit. the late 90s were a dark time for music.

Upon revisiting "Rivals", I actually really like it. Nothing will ever top "Chamber Music", but it's nice to have a fourth CC album to regularly listen to.

Dark Days surpassed Chamber Music by millions of light years, I understand it's not remotely as experimental and accessible but it's constant grittiness makes up for it.

recently revisited them since i loved them in middle school. Wow, what an embarrassing band. The actual stereotype of the edgy goth kid who writes poetry about how much he hates everyone

Seriously man, I miss the times when agnsty alternative metal with pop industrial was the typical example of gothic music.

Embarrassing how? If Korn and Limp Bizkit reproduced, Coal Chamber would be their love child.

Farfara's not that great. Always been a bigger fan of Meegs Rascon, Mikey & Rayna/Nadja...

Tfu, your silly comparisons < everything. Get a life dudes, who the hell compares DevilDriver and Coal Chamber, as they are totally different? And for sake that CC went to hiatus? Don't be silly, at least new album was released so it means CC won't die. On Diabolical Masquerade site (having similar or even worse problem 'cause it's needed to split-up Bloodbath for reactivation of Diabolical) people didn't resort to such silly hating Bloodbath.

2 bands with the same singer are certainly capable of being compared & I think it's natural to prefer one over the other
