“agoraphobic” is CORPSE’s somber return after subsequently releasing “E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE!,” which became a smash hit and his biggest song to date. This song’s theme is based on the real-life condition agoraphobia, which is a panic-inducing anxiety disorder caused by the embarrassment of places and situations. CORPSE explains this is the reason he enjoys staying in isolation, due to the stigma that stems from his fame. Additionally, the sad instrumental gives the audience insight into how CORPSE’s hopelessness affects his mental state, while also pertaining to the track’s soft mood. At first, CORPSE made it clear that this song wouldn’t be released on any streaming platform other than SoundCloud, due to him wanting to relate with core fans only going to be on though, not iTunes or Spotify or anything like that. Just there for the people who can relate to it and want it. Though, months later, on January 29, 2021, CORPSE ultimately decided to backtrack on his decision, and uploaded the song to all streaming platforms. A few days before the song’s official debut, CORPSE shared his reasoning via Twitter: thinking about putting “agoraphobic” on Spotify and all that on Friday or something, everything’s fucked, might as well.
