I kinda feel this song belongs on Station to Station. The Thin White Duke is already here.

Lennon's collaboration in this song is kinda ridiculous, he practically did nothing, would make no difference without him.

“Fame” was something of an afterthought, making it onto the Young Americans album at the last minute. It became Bowie’s first #1 single in the United States and went gold to boot. Created with John Lennon and featuring a memorable guitar riff from Carlos Alomar, it’s a nasty, bitter diatribe about – what else? – fame. But the funky rhythm and echoing wail of the music make the message totally palatable – and dance-able. --watchmojo

Apparently Lennon didn't contribute anything else other than his vocal, the high pitched "Fame" after Bowie's line, which in Bowie's opinion was so ingenious he decided to add him in the credits. It does make the song way different and much better. Superb track.

Thank you David, for one of the greatest stripper anthems of all time! Seriously though, Bowie and Lennon.. my two favourite singers together. Dream team.
