One of his most underrated efforts. His last conventional album, too. I love this masterpiece.

This album is exotic, spiritual, moving, super-inspired, and otherworldly. Whoever wrote that smarmy review needs to be punched in the face.

Thom Jurek of All Music Guide writes crap like that all the time. For Jurek it's the literary equivalent to running on a treadmill. I tend to think little of critics generally, but if you want to roll in laughter, read some of his pompous (often technically misinformed) reviews of jazz classics that somehow get assigned to him. I've seen jazz musicians blog angrily about some of his pronouncements. Sorry, this page is for Sylvian--but I had to answer the rhetorical question, prominence_la.

Honestly, "the sonic equivalent of running on a treadmill"? Who writes pretentious junk like that for such a piece of beauty like this?
