It's crazy to think this was recorded in such dire straits. David called it a failure due to budget issues and not being able to include 'Ride' on it. And still it's such a beautiful album. I guess some things are just meant to be.

This album contains some of the most blissful arrangements I've ever heard in my life. The strings, the drums, the voice, it all blends so quietly and perfectly... A litteral bliss for ears.

It's true David called this album as a failure. But cos he has money and time not enough to finish him absolutely. David loves material on this record, but don't love recording quality.

He said he likes the material, but due to budget issues he was not able to finish it the way he envisioned. He also was not able to include the song 'Ride', which was meant to be the pillar of the whole thing.

I second what Fury112 said; this complemented The Colour of Spring beautifully.

An album every person should listen too... [2] and I think I could listen to "When Poets Dream Of Angels" on a continuous loop. [2] They said everything that I wanted to say.

I like each track. The strong points is clearly 2, 4 and 8. Though the intro is fantastic, especially for an intro. I'm just baffled that the critics haven't put this on any best of list - not even 1987. 1987 was one hell of a year though: Joshua Tree, Bad, Sign O' The Times were all from that year. This still deserved a spot in top 10 at least! I don't have Forbidden Colours on my cd. Promise is great, but I want Forbidden Colours too :D

I am the first listen and I am so impressed. His voice is so amazing, it reminds me of Dave Gahan but with more passion. *___*
