"Death in June's version lacks the soul and sadness of the original" I guess the soul and sadness were not really intended here. I also think that DiJ's version have nothing to do with race issues

@Clockworkz - Actually the lyrics are taken directly from [track artist=Oscar Brown Jr.]Brown Baby[/track] by Oscar Brown (recorded way back in 1960). Frankly, Death in June's version lacks the soul and sadness of the original. Much of the album featuring the original song dealt with race issues.
