"THE ROCKWOOD ESCAPE PLAN" is the second album by rapper & producer Devon Hendryx, now known as JPEGMAFIA.
The album has 3 major versions.
The initial version was released on Valentine's Day 2012 and is the longest variant of the album. The initial version contains the track ☁✈, which was removed in subsequent versions. The initial version also features longer versions of the songs "I ♥ You Hip Hop But I Can't Be Your Girlfriend Because That's Gay", "Toonami", and "The 27 Club". This version also contains a slight difference in tracklisting, with "Y2K" appearing after "Sunday School" and not before.
The album was majorly updated sometime in July 2012. This version removed ☁✈, added the interlude "2004年9月9日" after "The 27 Club", shortened "Toonami" and "I ♥ You Hip Hop But I Can't Be Your Girlfriend Because That's Gay", swaps the order of "Y2K" and "Sunday School", and adds the subtitle (Church of Granas) to "Sunday School". The album's tracklist now lists a handful of features, however the majority of them are fake. The only listed features that are real are Enso Sinatra on "A Song About Nothing" and Rebbeca on "Generation Y 1989". Like Joechillworld's 3rd revision, this version adds a parental advisory sticker to the cover art, which like Joechillworld's, is also much higher resolution than the main cover art.
The album was updated again in November 2013 shortly after the release of Devon's final album THE GHOST~POP TAPE. This version features the most changes of all. The album now features a completely new mix, master, and cover art. This version also features a completely remade version of "I ♥ You Hip Hop But I Can't Be Your Girlfriend Because That's Gay", making it the longest track on the album. This update removes the tracks "Neon Kitchen III" and "2004年9月9日". It also shortens the tracks "Capcom Vs. SNK", "God & Earrings", Blue China", "Y2K", "Sunday School", "Neon Runway", "Deuce Komradz", "Generation Y 1989", "Toonami", and "The 27 Club". "Quisha" was also shortened however the shortening was done before the major update. "The 27 Club" has its outro shortened and separated into its track titled "DIP". The majority of the fake features have been removed, with the only ones remaining are Enso's credit on "A Song About Nothing" and the fake feature by "A N**** Named Steve" on "MissingNo.". "MissingNo." features 10 extra seconds of silence at the end, followed by seemingly random noise. "Pu$$y" has been renamed to "Pu$$y #1", likely to promote "Pu$$y #3" which was on his album THE GHOST~POP TAPE.
In 2018, he would slightly update the album as part of his effort to remove potentially offensive material from his music. "I ♥ You Hip Hop But I Can't Be Your Girlfriend Because That's Gay" has been renamed to simply "I ♥ You Hip Hop But I Can't Be Your Girlfriend", the title of "Hoe$" has been removed, leaving it with just its subtitle, The word "faggot" in "The 27 Club" has been censored, and "Deuce Komradz" had multiple references to sensitive personal information removed, the song's updated version also contains other weird pauses and distortions and is 8 seconds shorter.

The album was a Bandcamp exclusive for the majority of its release, however, people have reuploaded the album onto streaming services under multiple pages many times, most of them only being up for a few months as Devon would strike them down. This led to Devon putting the album up on streaming officially along with the majority of his other work in 2023.

In 2024, JPEGMAFIA would reissue all of his work done under Devon Hendryx onto physical formats as part of a limited run. This is the description for the store listing.

Originally released Valentines Day 2012

Mix updated in 2012 along with all tapes when YouTube reset all my upload dates to May 5, 2012.

Songs were removed and added. One song re-done with new beat and structure.

This is the first time I decided to experiment with my sound I appreciate the range of ideas I had even though I wasn’t sure what I was doing yet.
