The catchy disco-influenced "Say So" was released in November of 2019 as an album track off of Doja Cat's sophomore album "Hot Pink", and slowly made its way to the top of the charts in the next year with the help of a viral dance in the app TikTok. A few months later, in April of 2020, Doja announced that the viral hit was going to recieve a remix with the help of fellow female rapper Nicki Minaj. A few hours before the new mix's official release in the USA, an old version of the song was being released in digital platforms of other countries, but the actual version of the remix was later released, featuring a new beat on Nicki's verse. The new version reached the #1 in the iTunes of almost 30 countries in less than a week. It generated over over 2.8M streams on Spotify on the first 24h. The track was also accompanied by a lyric video posted on Doja's YouTube channel and a coreography video posted on Nicki's channel on the same platform. It reached its peak on top of the billboard hot 100 on the chart week of May 16th accompanied with featuring artist Nicki Minaj.
