Biography
Duckboy (stylized as DUCKBOY in streaming), is Ruby da Cherry's pop punk/punk rock side-project started in 2023.
Under this name, there have been two albums (in streaming, the albums are seen with brackets instead of parentheses,
tragic love songs to study to (vol. 5) (12 min. 49 sec.), released in July 14, 2023,
existential hymns for the average sigma (vol. 9) (12 min. 21 sec.) released in December 15, 2023.
This is not his first time with punk rock music; Ruby used to be in a band named Vapo-Rats, which focused on hardcore punk music.
Ruby has solo music that predates $uicideboy$, under the name Oddy Nuff da Snow Leopard.
Aristos Norman Petrou; or known as Ruby, was born on April 22, 1990 and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana.
With his cousin, Scrim (stylized as $crim, real name Scott Anthony Arceneaux Jr.) founded $uicideboy$ in 2014, a harsh, grimy hip-hop duo with roots in memphis rap, cloud rap, and emo rap which lyrically focus on substance abuse and suicidal ideation. With known songs as Antartica, Kill Yourself (Part III), …And to Those I Love, Thanks for Sticking Around, they've cemented themselves in the SoundCloud rap scene, even getting out of the underground into the mainstream with multiple RIAA gold awards (and one platinum!).
$uicideboy$ has their own label, named G*59 Records (Grey Five Nine), which has many other artists under it (including this side-project).
