Earl performed “Faucet” for the first time at the Observatory in Santa Ana with Vince Staples on 12/23/14. This is one of few songs from I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside to have its title confirmed by Earl directly when performed live.
In an interview with NPR, Earl talked about how this track touches on the topic of how he felt uncomfortable at home when he was 16. That was shortly before his mother sent him to Samoa.
