the lyrics on this album are ridiculous... "20-inch rim man with no land"!! Honestly an entire dissertation could (and should) be written on this album, it's so fucking brilliant.

It's such a heavy LP (in many senses), I've found it hard to listen to at times, it conjures some very uneasy emotions for me. In many ways this record feels like Gil Scott-Heron's best stuff; cutting edge soul sounds coupled with difficult, personal, and political lyrics. I'm looking forward to Part Two.

I think this was one of those albums it seems only true fans of her and of good music in general will enjoy. Whether instantly or after a few spins....

I thought this was dull and lifeless on my first few listens, and I've been a big fan since the start. Now I can say that persistence is gold. I love this album!
