Formed in 1983 by guitarist and Ace Frehley after his departure from group KISS, Frehley's Comet provided a platter of arena-made tunes before folding, perhaps never breaking into the mainstream quite as they could have. Along with Richie Scarlet (guitars, vocals), John Regan (bass) and Anton Fig (drums), demos were recorded and soon a contract was signed. Yet the record company went bankrupt, giving them a nasty omen while also messing up their plans, so they had to start all over again searching for a new contract.

The self-titled debut album was finally released in 1987, and, by that time, Richie Scarlet had been replaced by Tod Howarth. Spawing the top 30 rock hit "Into The Night", that successful album was followed by the live EP 'Live +1' and later by the full length studio album 'Second Sighting' in 1988. Anton Fig had a full-time gig with the Late Night with David Letterman studio band, and he had been replaced by Jamie Oldaker on drums.

In 1989, the album 'Trouble Walkin'' was released. This album was released as a solo album by Ace Frehley because of the change to a rougher sound and music style. Still. the band behind the release was the original line-up of Frehley's Comet. At any rate, Frehley's Comet as a band was no more.
