9.7/10. This triple album is my 2nd favorite Beatles solo album out there. Just being Imagine, which I think to be a 10/10 masterpiece of an album. So many masterpieces on All Things Must Pass. I will admit the last 2 songs could definitely be shortened, but besides the two I think every song on this album is great to listen to! Would recommended taking a listen.

great songs, great playing, very cohesive overall. spector's production is really a drag sometimes, but he cannot hide such a great musicianship in the "wall of sound". this doesn't sound like a beatles album at all though, despite what some say: it's a more sober, thematic album, not nearly as playful as anything in the beatles catalog. harrison's artistry, as it matured, was not a fit for the band anymore and that's why he benefited so much from going solo. i don't think it was just a matter of being shadowed by John and Paul, he was just up to a different thing.

if this album was shorter it'd be without a doubt the best beatle solo album, i just think there are many songs that are just there to fill and feel unnecesary

it's not that the apple jam is bad, it's quite good, i wouldn't complain so much about it if they released it separately. kills the mood of the album and it's jarring.

Although I think that Lennon has the best overall career of any of the ex Beatles I think this is the best singular album any of them managed

I agree. Ram and Band on the Run come super close for me (Macca has the best solo output imo).

Hello guys *ERMM* uhh here is my 1,000 uh super collectable super rare version of ATMP. Uh it's got all the meaningless material garbage you need y'know uh. I have literally no fucking idea what I'm going to do with the huge fucking wooden box. I'm thinking about taking a picture of me sitting on it for my Instragram but I'm still question if I should. I could've used the 1,000 dollars to pay off my extreme medical bills but the little plastic gnomes were talking to me while I was sleeping. They were literally all huddled around me and uh it was freaking me out. So uhh money well spent? Anyways I have to push this back into my closet because uh I only got this for temporary joy.

Simply one the best albums ever recorded, regardless of being produced in a post-Beatles environment. True, all things must pass, but this album will endure for generations to come.

So long, but so good - consistently good! George was the "quiet" one, but this album proves otherwise.

Made a conscious effort to listen to it, as I had heard so much about it, and to be honest, I think it is overrated. I quite liked it, but it doesn't blow me away the way the hype would have you believe. Not as good as Imagine or Band on the Run, even if you only took the best songs from it.

To each his own but I rate this way above anything Lennon did post-Beatles. George Harrison in his songwriting peak with Derek and the Dominos as his backing band and Phil Spector producing is just a great combination, IMO.

As you say, each to their own....but I have no idea what you are talking about with respect to Derek and the Dominoes. Harrison had zero input to that band.....and his 'great album' was basically all the songs he couldn't get onto Beatles albums! Yes some good ones among them, but other than 2 or 3, you couldn't say they really merited being Beatles songs. Like I said....good album, but he never was in the same class as Lennon or McCartney. Still good though......but they were the best.

Definitely the best Beatles solo album. Only Plastic Ono Band really comes close.

Just curious, what do you consider solo albums in this case? Do you consider all of McCartney's stuff with Wings as solo albums or do you consider Wings as another band and not eligible for this discussion?

I generally still think of Wings as McCartney solo, even though I guess it technically is another band.

Ah, okay. I figured that was probably the case but was just wondering if you held All Things Must Pass and POB in higher regard than Band on the Run, Venus and Mars, etc.

Definitely would've been better without Phil Spector, but nothing can keep songs this good down. It would've been a masterpiece even if it'd been recorded in state-of-the-art facilities in godforsaken 1987,
