His interpretation of William Byrde and Orlando Gibbons is outstanding (A Consort of Musicke Bye William Byrde and Orlando Gibbons), it makes that music go into a much higher level than it actually was, considered is music more than 500 years old.

A week ago I finally went to see Pawlikowski's 'Cold War' and when the Aria from the Goldberg Variations came on over the end credits, I was absolutely sure someone in the audience was weeping. Then I saw the performer's name on screen and went 'oh it's him, I've been had'. For a minute though, it was absolutely harrowing

Его, как здесь выражаются, humming вообще очень нехило опускает с небес на землю и дает понимание того, насколько условность все эти ваши "чего в музыке можно, а чего нельзя".

By the way I love his humming - how could anybody not hum while listening to these variations? I hum, he hums - we're all happily humming ;) That's the world I want to live in. [3] HAHA :)
