On “private island,” the opening track ”DS4EVER”, Gunna talks about his rough upbringing, expressing his comeuppance. The song features a melodic guitar-trap beat produced by Wheezy, similar to “ARGENTINA,” the intro to Gunna’s last album, ”WUNNA”.
When the song leaked in December 2021, there was a rumor going around that Kanye West was involved with the production of this song, but the rumor was debunked as false.
“private island” debuted at #68 on the Billboard Hot 100 week ending January 22, 2022.
