It is weird that most metalheads also have a passionate interest in synth heavy music, not any other random genre but synth specifically.

A combination of 80s pop culture and aesthetics, the usually dark and evil atmospheres synthwave contemplates, the hard-driving anthemic song structures frequently found in metal. And basically is a musical style a metalhead can dance to - guilt-free.

Mannequins makes for a unique celebration of the band's 10-year anniversary and a quite enjoyable synthwave record. Nothing groundbreaking in the genre, just a different way to tell an one-off story, geeking out over all those tasty 80s pop culture tropes, they all seem to love so much.

Actually the synthwave album is pretty decent. I'm glad it isn't the future direction, though I'm not against elements of this album in the future mixed with their psych black metal.

I hope they will do a synth album next, because Mannequins is so awesome! Don't like the rest of the band's music.

Yeah I'm seriously hoping this isn't an indicator of the next album, I just got into this band. I hope it's just a one off thing they wanted to do for fun.

no. Disco was a awful mutation of R&B. the genre never lived up to the Bee Gees.

I listen to them, forget how good they are, then listen to them and get surprised all over again...

Pneuma is exactly what I wanted from Post Watershed Opeth. A new take on something that came before, instead of straight up tribute and worship like Heritage onward has been. With Opeth I would've been perfectly ok with something unique with only clean vocals. However, with HSN I am in love with the their black metal vocals. They're fun, nasty and beautifully harsh. Each HSN album is very unique in their presentation and atmosphere they create. I love Eden In Reverse, however I hope they keep the tight, yet still free flowing songwriting present on EIR just with the addition of Black Metal vocals for future albums, as I think they still have a few albums to produce with Black Metal vocals that will be unique. Maybe they can produce the black metal spiritual successor to the Wall, who knows.

I am okay with that actually since their music has never been about heaviness but melody and diversity.

Don't know, i've never seen them as a "heavy" band, their music for me is like "softly menacing". Even in Eden in reverse i feel this "softly menacing" touch, and there are parts, here and there, where i miss the "harsh" vocals. Anyway, quality is still there! For now it seems to me a good album

It is a good album indeed, and a humble one which I appreciate. If I know a thing or two about music, I can tell that this album is a grower. It will blossom with time and repeated listens. Also I have been watching some classic movies recently and their retro approach makes more sense. It is more than just sound.

The bonus track "Ever-shifting Tunnels" (LE only) has harsh vocals. Though I think they're done by live/new member Cons Marg.

The new track is a masterful display of dominance. They are on their own level. This album will destroy everything.

It is black metal in some way, but.. lol. who cares [4] Already knew these guys and loving from first listen (I always thought I didn't give them enough care) and now, finally, new album. I have to check it out, as it seems to be another brilliant gem, judging by Lethargicus comment.

Metal album of the year. Already knew this after the first track was released. The 2nd reaffirmed my belief. And now that I can finally listen to the rest... well, my mind is blown. This is brilliant. I will be playing this a lot, no doubt.
