Harmless's album, "Springs Eternal," delves into his journey of reconnecting with his younger self following a life-altering accident. Since the accident, he has grappled with feeling disconnected from his identity and struggled to bridge the gap between his past and present self. To recapture the essence of his earlier work, Harmless imposed limitations during the writing process, using only the instruments and technology available to him before the accident. Despite physical challenges and emotional strain, he poured himself into the creation of the album, collaborating with Yves Rothman at Sunset Sound to produce a body of work he is immensely proud of.
While the musical style mirrors his past endeavors, the lyrical content explores intimate topics such as marriage, family dynamics, and the music industry. Through these songs, Harmless engages in a dialogue with his past self, aiming to convey messages of hope and resilience. Ultimately, he feels he has achieved his goal of using music to transcend the barriers imposed by trauma and reconnect with his former self. With a sense of accomplishment and anticipation, Harmless looks forward to sharing this deeply personal journey with his audience.
