It's a great rendition of this song, gives it a '90s rock kick for sure. Of all the songs on this album, this one and "Gutless" took me the most time to warm up to before joining the ranks of brilliance that the others had on first listen. There's more guitar work in this than there are vocals, so maybe that's why it had to grow on me, but damn— that palm mute and all the wacky shit going on in this is awesome. It's a great listen and definitely one of the best cover songs this band has done.

@Nimbie I think the original (by Young Marble Giants) is good (especially when it's performed live) but I prefer this cover.

It seems like no one knows it's a Young Marble Giants cover... God, how underrated they are. This version isn't bad though, I like the intro. To tell the truth, this cover was one of the reasons I decided to check "Live Through This" out: I'm a big Young Marble Giants fan, so I couldn't miss it.

The intro is a partial interpretation of a Kurt Cobain jam, made in the sessions of Old Age... in Olympia, WA/Los Angeles, CA, US [Spring 1991-Fall 1992]. The track I'm talking about is an acoustic version of Old Age, 6:00 minutes and first part is a solo jam improvisation, second part is the jam I'm talking about (the intro of Credit in the Straight World) and third part is the Old Age song itself.

ok, now this is more like it! whatever has been said about courtney in the past, present, and future (the members of the melvins hate her guts), you must admit two things: she is absolutely gorgeous, and she is definitely an original....

Also...if you can find demos for this album you can hear Kurt singing backing vocals on a few tracks. Oh and this is one of the best from this album

This is their best album and i think part of that is the fact that Kurt and Courtney were doing pretty good as a couple and as collaborators. He worked on the production and such :)

This is a cover of an early post punk band called Young Marble Giants. This is a perfect cover. I also really enjoy Hole's cover of "Gold Dust Woman."
