Demo recordings from 1984 from the Los Angeles club circuit. At the time the band were led by Axl Rose, and also consisted of guitarists Izzy Stradlin and Chris Weber and Johnny Kreis on drums. Tracii Guns, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler would be added to the line-up later. The band would eventually transform into the hard rock outfit Guns N' Roses. However as Hollywood Rose they achieved little outside of Los Angeles.

These demos is the only collection ever released by Hollywood Rose, and was released in 2004 under the Cleopatra. This was largely because of Guns N' Roses worldwide popularity, hence the title.

Killing Time and Rocker were written by Axl Rose and Chris Weber. Whilst the other three tracks are credited to Steven Adler, Saul Hudson, ? Isbell, Duff McKagen, Axl Rose and Chris Weber.

The collection ends with the five tracks being remixed. One set is mixed by Gilby Clarke who relocated to Los Angeles from Cleveland and became friends with the members of Hollywood Rose. He would later become a full member of Guns N' Roses for a short while in the mid-1990s, as well as release several solo albums. The second set is mixed by Fred Coury, a Los Angeles native who become drummer for the hard rock band Cinderella.

Anything Goes would later appear on the Guns N' Roses debut album Appetite For Destruction, released in 1987. And Reckless Life would later appear as a live version in GN'R Lies, released in 1988.
