“Black Sheep” is American singer-songwriter Kailee Morgue’s own spin on the classic Metric song of the same name.
Morgue first performed the cover on tour in 2019, and ultimately decided to release it as a single in August of the same year. She explained to CoupedeMain that she was inspired by the film the original was used in, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World to cover and perform it live.
“I actually covered “Black Sheep” on tour because I always loved that scene in Scott Pilgrim, and I wanted to recreate that even down to Brie Larson’s movements! It was always the craziest part of my set so I decided to make a studio version to share that feeling with everyone, I can’t wait to perform it again!“
