Kanye took to Twitter to explain why he added “Low Lights” to the album, stating: “I put Lowlights on my album just thinking about all the moms driving they kids to school then going to work…”

I put Lowlights on my album just thinking about all the moms driving they kids to school then going to work…

“Low Lights” samples the acapella version of a 2004 tribal house track “So Alive” by Kings of Tomorrow, a pseudonym for producer Sandy Rivera.

The voice on the recording belongs to an uncredited vocalist, who was presumably hired by Rivera. Since the vocalist was uncredited, Sandy Rivera owns the rights and is credited on Tidal. It is likely the voice in the sample belongs to motivation speaker Lisa Nichols, though it is not confirmed.
