I originally bought this on cassette back in 1993 when I was 20, though I had been aware of her since swing the "Cloudbusting" and "Running Up That Hill" videos in 1985 (the year I had my great musical awakening, lol).... Nobody else I knew while growing up seemed to be into her (hard-rocker at heart that I am), so her music was amazing in that here was a world I could escape into and enjoy/relax. A place all my own so to speak. I have long since subsequently bought this on CD as well.... :-) Anyway, this is a great collection for anyone who wants to get to know her 1978-1986 material if they are just discovering her music. She is in a class of her own, and as Johnny Rotten once famously said at a British awards show, she is f&%@^ng brilliant! http://youtu.be/mEggiJ2Dvrw?t=7m4s

Despite all that it omits, it is still one of THE all-time greatest hits collections ever!!

My copy of this sounds dreadful, I don't know how the vinyl is but the original CD masters stink. Quality music though, of course!

I bought this album on tape from a charity shop and someone had listened to Hounds of love so many times it had worn off.....

nice collection to introduce to a novice (of her music). you can't go wrong with any of the tracks (although i would've added a couple more). Agree with post below, "Hounds of Love" is best! :)

this is the album my parents listened to all the time when i was child. I can tell that then i couldn't stand it (no accounting for bad taste eh?). When i was young, it hurt my ears to listen to it. Now , as an adult, i've come full circle, and this has easily become one of my favourite albums by any artist. It is pure, magical, brilliance!

Wonderful music! A good voice. Every song is a pearl. Not much, but high quality music
