Man this creeps me out so much. And by the end I have totally forgotten what the start of the song sounded like. Pretty cool

the weird apocalyptic turn the lyrics take after that transition is deeply unsettling.

though, now that I understand the themes behind this album more, it's got an almost hopeful thing to it. She cuts off before she can say the entire last word but assume it's "alone" which would make most sense, it's almost like her final philosophical conclusion in the face of the seemingly meaningless void that is life is that at the worst of times, it's best to have people around you to make it all worthwhile. In that sense it's very much like "Don't Panic" (Coldplay) which is a song that also has to do with a metaphorical apocalypse and ends with the same basic message. It sounds a bit cheesy since it's basically "The Real Time 'N' Place Was The Friends We Made Along The Way" but that doesn't make it any less insightful.
