Now you listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you.

My feelings really are conflicted with this piece. I can't even explain the cycle of love and hate I go through whilst listening to this, but I suppose if you've heard it, you had a similar reaction.

@buzzmore "Also very similar to the music used at the start of There Will Be Blood". Well spotted, the score for that movie was written by Jonny Greenwood (the guitarist in Radiohead), who is massively influenced by Penderecki. The piece used at the opening is actually one of his orchestral works called Popcorn Superhet Receiver.

This highlights the brilliance of [artist]SebastiAn[/artist]'s [track artist=SebastiAn]Threnody[/track]. And is also obviously chilling in its own right: scary and compelling [2] indeed.

sigh... "not meant to be enjoyed ". !.?.!. I enjoy it thoroughly as this track, and this album for that matter, it is a masterpiece. Penderecki is so expressive, and experimental, that it puts him into the realm of avant-garde for me. He has a way of creepifing beautiful instuments to the point of being introspectively mood altering, tracks still amaze me now, decades after their creation.

breezy and relaxing, those violins sound like a pleasant zephyr blowing gently down at the beach

Fantastic. The only music that actually puts me on the edge of my seat and gives me goosebumps.

Like stepping into a freezing shower on a cold morning. Offers no hope but that of remembrance. Fantastic.
