"LALI" is the fifth studio album by Argentine singer Lali, released worldwide on April 13, 2023 through Sony Music Argentina. The album marks Lali's return to her origins in pop music after to explore Latin sounds such as reggaeton and trap on his previous albums "Brava" (2018) and "Libra" (2020).
At the end of 2021, December 22, 2021, Lali shared a short video of just 30 seconds through her social networks announcing her musical return, where some previews of her upcoming releases could be seen and the words "Lali 2022 ", hinting that new music would be coming the following year.
Lali is "an ode to pop" in which the singer revisits many of the musical influences she drew from throughout her life. Described as her "most pop album", it features multiple sounds and elements of music. pop from the late 90s and early 2000s. Among these, it is possible to identify the strong influence of artists who dominated the period such as Britney Spears, NSYNC and Jennifer Lopez, among others.
The album was titled after Lali herself "not out of mere self-centered devotion", but because it is her "most sincere" of hers. In an interview with GQ Spain, Lali said: "it is that most represents me and, in some way, all my path since I was a child."On a similar note, the singer expressed to Los 40 that she chose the title because it "closes a stage in life" and added: "I am thirty-one and I wanted it to close that stage and the path traveled until today" and that "this record defines that Lali who worked so hard for get to this fifth album.”
