"How to Disappear" (stylized in sentence case) is a reflective track about coming to terms with a past relationship while living in the present. The song points out the importance of understanding the past, accepting it, and ultimately moving on. The lyrics discuss the narrator's yearning for a past love, while she is surrounded by the comforts of the world around her including the "California sun and the movie stars".
