"Living Legend" is a tribute to a significant person in her life whom she considers to be her living legend. The lyrics compare the person to birds which sing in a similar key and the hipsters of the back Brooklyn bayou. The chorus continues this theme, celebrating the person's ability to move and do things which send her to Heaven. The bridge reduces the theme to the summertime and horses and reveals the narrator's own experience of living on the edge between Heaven and Hell. The song ultimately ends with an exclamation of admiration for her "Living Legend".
It is the thirteenth track from Lana Del Rey's eighth studio album, Blue Banisters.
