Biography
Le Chant Noir is one of those unexpected surprises. It started out in 2016 as an avant-garde project combining Black/Death/Progressive Metal with Classical music and anything that works. The recording sessions were very unorthodox. The intention was to obtain an organic sound which is rarely achieved today. A cheap drum kit with no bottom heads was used and recorded on an old 4-track recorder to achieve a retro sound. The guitars, bass, synths and vocals were recorded and pre-mixed in the home studios of the LCN members. The orchestra, however, was recorded in a conservatory using high-end studio gear. To top things off, the final mix and mastering was also done using the studio facilities of the conservatory. We hope you enjoy our offering.
