Lee Brilleaux was frontsman for British pub-rock band Dr. Feelgood, formed in 1971. Brilleaux died of cancer on 7 April 1994.

LEE's OWN WORDS in November 1989

BORN 10-05-52 Durban, South Africa of English parents on contract work in that country.
RETURNED to England 1955. Raised in Ealing, West London.
ATTENDED Oaklands Primary and Junior Schools and Ealing Grammar School for boys.
MOVED to Canvey Island, Essex 1965. Attended Rayleigh Sweyne Comprehensive School. At this time met John B. Sparks and Chris Fenwick (future bass player and manager of 'Dr Feelgood').
EMPLOYED as a solicitor's Clerk (1968) after leaving school. During this period played in the Southside Jug Band and the Pigboy Charlie Band and the Wild Bunch.
ATTENDED The Royal College of Law 1970/72 to study for Solicitors Admission Certificate, at this time began to play with Dave Higgs (future Hot Rods guitarist).
FORMED (1972) Dr Feelgood with Wilko Johnson, John B. Sparks, Big Figure.
PLAYED the London pub circuit as a result of recommendation of Will Birch (future Kursaal Flyers Drummer).
RECEIVED avid attention of music press as result of above performances.
CONTRACTED to United Artists record label (1974) as a result of above publicity.
RECORDED 1st Dr Feelgood album 'Down by the Jetty' produced by Vic Maile in mono.
RECORDED 2nd album 'Malpractice'.
RELEASED 'Stupidity' No1 album recorded live at Sheffield and Southend.
CONTRACTED to C.B.S. Records for America as a result of above success. Band toured extensively in America but encountered many problems with Wilko Johnson's problems of pressure being principle song-writer.
RECORDED 'Sneakin' Suspicion' at Rockfield Studios, Monmouth. The inclusion of 'Lucky Seven' (a Lew Lewis song) led to the row which precipitated in Wilko leaving the band. From now on most history of the band can be obtained from the excellent sleeve notes to the 'Singles' album.

Lee DIED on 7th April 1994 (lymphoma) at his home in Leigh on Sea, Essex, UK.
