On “Suicide Doors”, Lil Uzi Vert likens themself to Brandon Lee’s character “The Crow” from the 1994 gothic film, whilst rapping about women and bragging about their rise to fame.
The song is introduced by a short clip of Charleston White, a reformed former gang member, now internet personality and CEO, making fun of Uzi and their distinct style as a rapper:
"But I know he a sissyfied lookin' nigga that put fingernail polish on his motherfuckin nails, and wear dresses"
However, Uzi seemingly uses this song to reject these criticisms which have been heavily present throughout their career, especially in recent years. Throughout the song, Uzi asserts their identity and doesn’t shy away from the reproval they have faced from the media:
I do what I want, I do anything I please
The song was debuted at their Summer Smash 2023 set in Bridgeview, IL on the 24th of June, 2023, and once again previewed during Pink Tape’s trailer uploaded on June 26, 2023. It released on Pink Tape on the 30th of July 2023.
