ULTRA 85 is the upcoming and long-awaited ninth studio album of Maryland rapper Logic. The project will follow his February 2023 album, College Park, marking the continuation of his May 2017 studio album, Everybody.

Back in March 2018, during an interview with HardKnockTV, Logic gave insight into the feel of ULTRA 85:

"ULTRA 85 is like James Brown, Red Hot Chili Peppers kind of shit. Like super fucking live, no samples on the whole shit, Travis Barker on the drums, crazy… for the whole album"

This album was revealed in the 44-page booklet that came with the Everybody album limited edition version. In the booklet, there was a letter at the end and a message which read:

"To decipher the letter, read every 8th and 5th word.

Once deciphered, the final message read:

"For the real fans reading this hidden message my next album will be called Ultra 85, and it will be the conclusion to this saga."

Logic also stated in an interview with Genius that this will not only be the end of this saga, but it will be the last album he ever creates.

On an interview with Big Boy TV in mid-April of 2018, Logic comes clean and tells him that Ultra 85 will not be his last album and that he was “just fucking with everybody.” Logic also tweeted on July 17, 2018, that he has 80 unreleased songs and 7 projects ready to go.

With the release of Logic’s July 2020’s album No Pressure within an interview with HardKnockTV he said that with his retirement from making music he isn’t planning on releasing Ultra 85 at all, but in the No Pressure Interview with HardKnockTV he said that he will try to still get his fans to know the ending of the storyline about Thomas and Kai in some other way.

On September 6, 2021, Logic announced on Twitter that Ultra 85 would be released in the year 2024.

"ULTRA 85 2024"

That same month, the first version of the album was leaked in its entirety, consisting of sixteen tracks and features from Hailee Steinfeld, Wale, John Lindahl, and Damian Lemar Hudson.

After keeping the album under the radar for nearly three years, on January 1, 2024, Logic wiped out his Instagram page, leaving up a post of a black screen, confirming that the long-awaited album would see an official release in 2024.

The next day, in an interview with Guy Raz of The Greatest Creators, Logic revealed that he would be finishing up Ultra 85 within the next few weeks, describing the album on what he wants it to be:

"I’ve been working on this album for years and years and years, and in a few weeks i’m gonna finish it. I’ve been open and I’ve had fun and I haven’t been scared, and now I’m about to go in and own. Because I know what I want know and I know essentially what it needs to be."

Then, on January 28, 2024, Logic tweeted out a website link, atm301.com. This website would include snippets, easter eggs, details and the album cover art which would be revealed after going to the final folder of the website (85) and putting in the password “Ultra 85”. The artwork was then revealed alongside the announcement on the album’s first single, releasing on February 2, 2024.
