Logic covers familiar topics on this open mic-themed song, such as his rapping skills, family history, and music career. He also uses similar lyrics and samples from his debut album, October 2014’s "Under Pressure"; including July 1976’s “Do That Stuff” by Parliament, originally found on the aforementioned project’s title track. The second half of this song title refers to the name of the spaceship operated by protagonists Thomas and Kai on Logic’s second studio album, November 2015’s "The Incredible True Story".

Continuing with the concept of utilizing various elements from his debut, the interlude features a sample which can be heard in the background of the song “I’m Gone.” It also contains part of the the intro from “Warm it up,” off of his seventh mixtape, March 2018’s "Bobby Tarantino II".

Additionally, this song uses the same Roots sample as Kendrick Lamar’s September 2010 mixtape opener, “The Heart Pt. 2”—pulled from their June 2010 instrumental album intro, titled “A Peace of Light.”
