In the dead of night... Lovebites! Oh wait, nope. Surprised the track Judas Priest is not a top track.

Why would it be? It's Judas Priest, not Lovebites. I'm more surprised the band got their name from the Halestorm song instead of Priest because musically they're certainly closer to Priest and all the classic Metal than that modern day Hard Rock.

Well, it'd be wrong either way, because the Priest song is called "Love Bites", with a space, and not "Lovebites". Either way, classic song too, ofc.

Yes, that's right. Actually it surprisingly does exist: https://www.last.fm/music/Love+Bites/_/Judas+Priest

For real! When Destinies Align has some of the craziest soloing i've ever heard, still remember when that song dropped and it fuckin' blew my mind, even as a fan since the first album!

I've been listening to these guys for a month without doing any research. Figured only the singer was a female. Saw their band photo today and did a double take. This all women band blows most all men power metal groups these days out of the water.

What if I told you that you can be a superfan and have a passion for a good band without fanboy's claiming that this is the best band on earth that beats any other band in the genre? Especially if you are not a particular connoisseur of the genre and listen to trendy alt-rock like Radiohead

Their influence does not change the fact that this is a very mainstream project, to listen to which you do not need much knowledge and experience in rock music.

If we forget about the last sentence in your comment, this is a fairly common motif in the comments to their videos on YouTube.

Aldious are more or less a Pop Rock band disguising themselves as "Metal" these days, the albums are really quite inconsistent. Should check the older ones sometime, as they seem better based on what i've heard off them.

Incredible band, very exciting! Much better than most western female bands, imo. They don't need to have their tits hanging out to get attention. They just let their music speak. Incredible musicians, kickass sound!

You say it the moment they're wearing the sexy open-legged dresses in the main photo. I perfectly understand what you want to say, but they are clearly not a group that does not at least some kind of emphasis on their attractive appearance. And that's okay, as they also have quality music.

New album coming in February, will be the first release with the new bassist, she will nail it for sure! I'm still missing Miho, however... :/ https://lovebites.jp/news/#news275

To be honest, I've heard a lot of J all-female bands, many of them were pretty good, but almost none of them had as many weaboo and simps as Lovebites. What caused this? The girls play good metal, their skills are amazing, but their fandom for some reason resembles idol's fanboys. Why? Even Band-Maid fans are not that impressionable.

They're probably my favorite band right now. They're really good. I really hope they get bigger. They definitely need to market more overseas considering their music is very European influenced.

Because, in fact, Japan is much more progressive despite all the attempts of Americans to be white saviors.

Not true, lots of great bands in there too: Burning Witches, Crypta, Nervosa... You just gotta find the right ones.

This album admittedly caught me off guard, they're pretty good when they're not ripping off Band-Maid and Aldious.

They stole a shitload of riffs from Aldious on the first album. Vocal phrasing was almost identical to Band-Maid's too. I still think Mardelas is the best band to come out of Destrose, but this is a huge step in the right direction.

Hell no! They're not only the best Metal band from Japan, but the best Metal band from the last decade, and in fact one of the best Metal bands in general. Love me some Maiden-esque riffs, can't go wrong with that. And about the Aldious/Band-Maid comparison, they're nothing alike, and i'm saying this as a huge B-M fan too.

She fired every member of Destrose over "not being up to her standards"....all fucking 32 members the band had over the course of their career, not including her. The had 33 if you count her. She's also a terrible guitarist and songwriter, and a terrible human being according to ex-members. All of the bands that were started by people fired from Destrose are better than Destrose, lmao. Mary's Blood, Mardelas, Bridear and this band now that they found their own sound being the best. Fate Gear is literally just Destrose under a different name because nobody wanted to be associated with that name.

I don't care about their personal issues, but I'm surprised by your opinion regarding Destrose music. On the contrary I'd say Destrose's LP is very good and is one of the finest works in this all-female j-metal scene of 2010s (which is pretty mediocre overall, in my opinion). It's second only to Mary's Blood stuff to me. Bands like Mardelas and Bridear are forgettable and, that being sad, Fate Gear are forgettable too, at least their second album which I'm familiar with.

Dude if you think Mardelas is forgettable you need to revisit them. Easily the best band to come out of Destrose. I feel like people just don't care as much because they aren't an all-girl band. Mardelas III and the new EP are crushing.

I love X but i wouldn't call them the progenitor of the somewhat generic riffs in Lovebites.

The debut album is amazing! Power Metal AOTY for sure and that's a really big honor considering Galneryus released a new album this year.
