“For Love” was the second single from “Spooky”, the debut full-length album of the acclaimed shoegaze band Lush.
Written by lead singer Miki Berenyi, the song comes off as a celebration of romance at first glance, but the lyrics show an extremely cynical perspective at the concept of relationships hidden under the caffeinated bass and sugary jangle guitar.
A music video was released for this single and the version uses the single/EP "BAD2001" release of the song; remixed by Mark Freegard and Lush – the drums on this version were re-recorded from the version on “Spooky” – the bass appears to have less flange on it also.
