Dhil-un Taht... is something from another fucking plane. Just unbelievably evocative and intense — and I don’t even understand the lyrics! (From what I read, the lyrics are apparently masterful poetry to those who understand the Arabic language as well as the cultural and literary context) In a world where pretty uninteresting and forgettable (imo) “outsider” electronic music gets millions of listens, it’s nearly criminal that this has a few thousand

I'm starting to believe it doesn't exist. "whose 2016 EP Sworn Star Sites got a fair amount of media attention" = literally 4 google results when you search "Sworn Star Sites"?!?! I have tried variations of the EP title and alleged track titles in English and Arabic (google translated), I have looked on every single requisite music piracy source that I use (private trackers, public trackers, slsk, etc) as well as various other potential sources (google searches, internet archive searches). Nothing. The source of the info all seems to be a 2016 Vice article announcing the debut EP, and while it seems highly unlikely that article would exist if the EP didn't, it's also highly unlikely that there is absolutely ZERO trace of said EP just a couple years later. TL;DR I'm at a loss and can't help you. Though now I won't be able to rest until I resolve this...

yeah same that's why i thought i'd try posting a public shout... i do think the ep existed at one point though, because the 2016 article on cairoscene website has an embedded link to a deleted sc playlist and jesse osborne lanthier has mentioned hearing msylma on sc a few years ago, and from both of those sources it can be assumed that some of the songs from it made it to the debut album (fanaa ghada and dhil-un tahtshajarat al-zaqum maybe?) but the rest of it is gone... anyway..:( thank you for the reply! the search goes on.....
