"Homesick" is the ninth track of Madison Beer's debut studio album, Life Support. It was released on February 26, 2021 through Epic Records.
Madison first mentioned the song in a Zach Sang interview in 2019, saying "I have a song about how I'm an alien and I'm sad that my real parents didn't abduct me. I have a lyric in the song that's like my mom and dad first met under the moonlight but I didn't buy their cover story, it didn't feel right, I belong in space, and it's like a new song. I didn't have a title yet, I was going to call it "Phone Home"…right now it's called "Meant To Be", but I don't like that because it doesn't encompass what the song is supposed to be."
She then mentioned the song in a later livestream in 2020, saying "that song was called "Meant To Be", oh no wait, that was the old title, it's called "Homesick". We've changed that title so many times. It's called "Homesick", it's on the album, you'll hear it." During an Instagram live on January 11th, Madison confirmed "Homesick" was still on the album. Homesick was revealed as the ninth track of Life Support when the tracklist was posted on January 18th, 2021. On February 13th, 2021 she posted a snippet of the first 30 seconds of "Homesick".
