Mean Master is Noise Techno from the United States by Jeff Miller.
Noise, acapella, computer music, and techno are all good attempts to describe this artist. Each piece demonstrates a little different combination of the above. Some elements of rap can be found. There are some jokes along the way. The artist relies heavily on rock influences without actually using guitars or bass; though drums and keys are not used similar sounds are present. There is use of tone, sound effects, harmonica, drumsticks, guitar picks, white noise, echo, and a variety of other effects.
'Pan Sonic' sounds kind of similar. 'Rise of the Automaton', mainstream industrial artists, and even some rock musicians have left there impact on this artist. It is hard to place 'Mean Master' in any electronic/techno/industrial genre because Mean Master fails to use the most modern technology available. Even the mics they use are cheap for anyone's standards.
The artist was born and lives in Ohio, USA. The artist stays in recording studio, almost avoiding the concert stage.
The artist is nearly always recording more studio efforts. Several projects are usually ongoing including a follow-up to each themed album and an accompanying DVD with outtakes including extra songs, partial songs, acapella tracks, and tones.
This artist has 17 studio albums. Also, there are 10 music only dvd's containing several extra versions and pieces used to make every part of every sound the band has ever recorded, rehearsed, or attempted.
This artist began as Flys N' Such in the summer of 1998. Later, the name changed to Smuck in 2003. Finally, it became called Mean Master in 2004.
Lots of material, all of the material, for a huge new several-disc set was permanently lost in 2008 due to an electronic problem accompanied by a lack of a proper useage of backup options. Precautions could but will not be taken care of to avoid a repeat. Mean Master planned on releasing 5 albums in 2011. The end result was an end of the year disc. This could possibly result in a backlog of almost finished material scattering itself in a big way shortly.
In 2016, Mean Master set sights on Minimalism. In this attempt to restart and reorganize there are plans to use a very honed in set of sounds. The focus is on limiting how many different original sounds are taken into the project before mixing. The results are expected to have more songs, more focus on the singing, less focus on the other elements of the sound, and more synergy throughout the album to really get the feel of a true album.
